About Me

Profile Pic.jpg

I'm Sarah and I am the Founder and Lead Counsellor at The Resilience Tree Counselling Herts & Bucks. I am an Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).  I am also a Volunteer Counsellor at Cruse Bereavement Care, Bucks. Prior to setting up my own private practice I worked as a counsellor within an Addiction Recovery Centre and a Youth Counselling Agency.

Resilience is a quality that helps to drive our emotional and physical wellbeing because it determines our ability to cope with and manage stress and anxiety. Learning to become more resilient is critical, in childhood especially and is fundamental to the way in which I support clients.

I pride myself on working hard to create a secure therapeutic relationship that is based on trust, respect, feeling heard and being valued. I work with you or your child to find the best way of helping you to connect to and understand your emotions, thoughts and feelings. This might be through talking or you might prefer to use more creative tools (painting, drawing, music and play)  when the words cannot be found.

I specialise in working in the following areas:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (including ADHD, ADD and PDA)

  • Anxiety and low self-esteem

  • Bereavement, grief and loss

  • Addiction or problem drinking

I also support clients with the following difficulties:

  • OCD

  • Panick Attacks

  • Depression

  • Disordered Eating

  • Anger Management

  • Relationship Difficulties

  • Difficulty transitioning to School, College or University

  • School Refusers

  • Long term Health Difficulties

  • Postnatal Support

  • Chronic Fatigue and burn out

  • Caring for others

I am able to offer in person appointments from my therapy room in Tring, near Berkhamsted and I work with Older Children, Teenagers and Adults. I also offer remote sessions via live video, telephone, email or instant messenger (text counselling).
